Ralph Masiello Visits the Lincoln Library

Thanks to our wonderful PTA, Lincoln school was able to host an author visit from author/illustrator Ralph Masiello. Mr. Masiello has written and illustrated many wonderful books, including some very popular "How To Draw" titles. He was an inspiration to some of our aspiring artists!

Check out some of his newest titles below....and then stop into the library to REALLY check them out!

Happy Reading!

Not A Stick

In kindergarten we will be using our imaginations this week!
After reading Antionette Portis' book, "Not A Stick," we will try to imagine what ELSE the illustrations in the book might be referring to.
What else would YOU do with a stick??

We will also be using this handout, from DCG Elementary Libraries.

Happy Reading!

Looking for Your Next Book?

With all of the wonderful books in our library, sometimes it's hard to decide what to read next!
Luckily, this website, The Book Seer, (and others like it) can help you to locate your next favorite book!

Who wouldn't trust a face like this??
Simply enter the title and author of the book that you've most recently enjoyed, and check out the selections that the Book Seer suggests for you!

And remember, if our library doesn't have a title, we can usually borrow it from another library nearby!

Happy Reading!

Story Corner

Proceeds from the Scholastic Book Fair last year were used to purchase new furniture and equipment for the library. Among the items purchased were 3 new chairs, 2 beanbags and a bookshelf. These pieces can now be found in Lincoln Library's new Reading Corner...a space which was previously used primarily for storage has now been transformed into a relaxing spot for reading and learning. Check it out:Pretty neat, huh?
And so, in the spirit of reading and relaxing, here are some links to websites which feature animated readings of popular children's books.

And finally, below you will find some other New Additions to the library this year. These 3 paintings were completed with the help of some very artistic 5th graders and teachers. A special thanks to Mrs. Hall, our art teacher, for her art supplies and patience :)

Enjoy!
